Schell's Sends 2 to Sunny Mexico!
Congratulations to Troy Sowder, Winner of Schell's Big Bobber Bag Toss!
Schell’s Brewery hosted an ice-fishing contest (minus the lake, cold weather, and actual fish. Confused? Read on...) to benefit the Minnesota State Athletic Department. This fundraiser was in conjunction with the Big Bobber Ice Fishing Contest held on Lake Washington near Mankato, MN. The top fisherman from the Schell's Ice Fishing Contest was given a trip for 2 to sunny Mexico!
How it worked:
Contestants casted their beanbag fish onto the Big Bobber Beanbag Board. There were several different holes on the bobber board worth different values. Contestants could have sank their fish in the 16lb walleye hole or perhaps ended up landing a snag. The top 3 fishermen each night collecting the most weight in fish advanced to the “fish-off” held on February 6th at the Big Bobber Ice Fishing Contest. Participants could "fish" as many times as they liked. It cost $1/try.
The final fish-off took place on Saturday February 6th, 2010 at the Big Bobber Ice Fishing Contest on Lake Washington. The top 25 fisherman from the Schell's Big Bobber Bar Tour had a toss off testing their bean bag skills for a chance to travel to sunny Mexico!
All proceeds from this event were donated to the Minnesota State Athletics Scholarship Fund. Thanks to those who came out to support the MSU Athletic Program and Schell's Brewery.
