Schell's Oktoberfest Takes Home Silver at This Year's GABF
On the night of Schell’s 150th Anniversary celebration commemorating a century and a half of brewing German Style lagers, Schell’s was awarded a prize that pays true homage to the authenticity of its roots. Schell’s Brewery’s seasonal brew “Oktoberfest” took home the silver medal at this years Great American Beer Festival, the country’s most prestigious beer award festival.Oktoberfest placed second in the “American-Style, Amber Lager” category.
The 2010 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition drew an impressive field of competitors from all over the country. GABF remains the largest commercial beer competition in the world, with 3,523 beers vying for medals
This year's GABF competition attracted 151 beer judges from 10 countries. Award-winning brewers received prestigious gold, silver and bronze medals in 79 beer categories covering 133 beer styles, establishing the best examples of each style in the U.S.
